Welcome to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Lula, Georgia

Pastor James Duncan and Sandra DuncanThank you for this visit to our website. As the Pastor of Mt. Carmel, it is my privilege to share a little information with you about our church and to extend an open invitation for you to attend any of our services whenever possible. We are a Southern Baptist Church and a member and a supporter of the Georgia Baptist Convention. I believe there are four things that define and describe Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

We are a Bible teaching and believing church
God’s word has the preeminence in our lives and services. Expository teaching and preaching is the foundation upon which we build our services and our church.

We are a friendly church
The first thing you can expect when you enter the doors of Mt. Carmel is a warm and friendly welcome. Our goal is to make you feel right at home with us.

We are a singing church
Mt. Carmel has a long history of spirit filled, gospel singing. We love it! From the choir to the congregation, you will feel the joy as we lift our voices in praise to our King.

We are a generous church
God has given Mt. Carmel a tender heart for the needs of others and for the commission of the gospel. As Pastor, I am touched over and over at the willingness of our people to give of themselves through service, missions and community outreach.

Our mission
The Mission of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church is to bring others to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and to teach them how to  walk with God.

Welcome to our services

We extend a special welcome to our visitors. Thank you for  fellowshipping with us, as we worship our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are delighted you have chosen to visit our church. May God make this day special for you. The Nursery is available at the entrance of our church. It would be our joy to have you and your family visit Mt. Carmel. May the grace of our Lord be with you.

Sincerely,
Pastor James Duncan

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. Colossians 1 vs.27& 28

Church Announcements

Every Church. Every Nation.  It’s more than just a catch phrase. It’s at the core of what we do. We believe that every church, and every church member, has a critical role to play in bringing the gospel to the world. Your church’s participation in the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is a key part of that. Your Gift Transforms Lives.  Because you and your church give to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, International Mission Board missionaries can take the gospel to unreached people around the world. Every dollar you give makes a difference, because 100% of the money collected goes to the work of reaching every nation so please pray about what the Lord would have you give. We will receive the Lottie Moon offering next Sunday.

We  now have two new Facebook pages, "Mount Carmel Baptist Church" and "Mount Carmel Baptist Church Youth".  Please visit them, hit the Recommendation button  so the community will know how wonderful our church is!  Also hit the "Like" button so you will receive notices each time a new comment, photo, or event is posted.  If you have any good photos of the church such as a rainbow, snowfall, sunrise service, etc. please email them to c.j.farmer@windstream.net or bring them to church on a CD to give to CJ.  Photos of our members enjoying a church event this year would also be appreciated.

Mt Carmel Christmas Program- The Stable, The Star and The Tree will be presented Wednesday, December 12th at 6:30 in the Multi-Purpose Building. The program will be a re-telling of the Christmas story, that will bring us to the ultimate purpose of Christ’s coming; The Cross.  Everyone invited! It will be an outreach to the entire community, and it will take all of us to make it successful. There is a signup sheet in the back with some specific help that is needed. If you can, please sign up.  Contact Sandra Duncan for additional information.
Other Things you can do:
1. PRAY for all involved, and for God to use this program. To save, to consecrate and move hearts closer to him.
2. GIVE small donations:  Each person who attends will be given a small gift bag. Included will be a Christmas booklet explaining who Jesus is and why He came.
3. Be Present! – We are inviting our neighbors and community to visit, let’s be HOME when they come! afterward.

On Sunday December 16 there will be no Sunday School, morning service will start at 10:30 a.m. and the Mount Carmel Choir will be performing a Christmas cantata.  For the 6 p.m. service, we will have our Christmas fellowship refreshments and fruit baskets.

If you do not receive calls from the Calling Post and would like to get these announcements or your number has changed, please put your name and number on a card and place it in the offering plate so you can be added to the list.

Please remember all the sick and bereaved.

There are information cards in the pews and on the table in the vestibule. Please fill out at least one per family so we may update our records, e-mail list and etc.

Have Prayer Requests?  You may e-mail your prayer requests to perryfan15@yahoo.com or call and leave a message at 706-677-3813. You may also drop off prayer requests in the basket on the table in the vestibule (there are slips of paper there for you to use.) We will send out prayer requests on an email prayer list and include them on our Wednesday night list during Bible Study.
